Security Issues

The WUJS Institute has a supreme commitment to the safety and security of students and staff. We receive security updates from the Jewish Agency situation room, which is constantly updated by the security authorities in Israel. Guidelines are updated and advisories are issued as to safe routes and destinations. Whenever necessary, we alter the itinerary in order to avoid risks and to ensure that the students feel safe and at ease at all times.

It is important to emphasize that Arad itself is in a safe region, and has repeatedly avoided attacks that have plagued other parts of the country. Of course we remain vigilant in assuring the safety of all the students participating in our program, and continue to address all security issues in the most serious and professional manner.

The WUJS Institute is located on a Jewish Agency premises, which is protected 24 hours a day by a professional security company. In addition, the building has a basement bomb shelter which is able to accommodate all the residents. The WUJS staff is sensitive to the security concerns of the program participants. Meetings are held periodically with the student population to provide security updates and to give advice regarding the usage of free time. The staff are available to the students at all times for counseling, advice and to enable students to express any concerns they may have.
